CO-CREATING A SMARTER AIRPORT FOR HONG KONG – TRANSFORMATION FROM CITY AIRPORT TO AIRPORT CITY

Hong Kong International Airport aims to deliver a unique passenger experience and to further enhance operational efficiency by making effective and innovative use of technology.  Innovation is one of the key elements for us to achieve the goal of transforming HKIA from City Airport to Airport City.   The HKIA Technology Roadmap puts forward four key objectives for transforming HKIA into a Smart Airport City, namely: 1) Autonomous Airport Operation, 2) Personalized End-to-end experience, 3) Seamless Business Collaboration, and 4) Hassle-free Safety and Security.  Under such four guiding principles, the Technology Roadmap has identified enabling technologies essential to implementing our digital transformation strategy.  This presentation will explore the applications of such enabling technologies including: robotic, advanced biometrics, mobile technology, digital twin and smart data platform and infrastructure.  We shall also give an update on the upcoming airport city development projects in HKIA.
